• Saffas Abroad: Madsen, Elgar in the runs

    Wayne Madsen and former Proteas captain Dean Elgar were among the standout South African performers overseas this past week.

    County Championship Division One

    Migael Pretorius picked up 3-63 and 3-46 for Somerset in  a seven-wicket victory against Durham.

    Dean Elgar scored 64 off 184 balls (six fours) in Essex’s draw with Surrey.

    County Championship Division Two

    Joburg-born former England international Keaton Jennings scored 112 off 203 deliveries (10 fours) in Lancashire’s innings-and-three-runs defeat to Leicestershire.

    Derbyshire captain Wayne Madsen hit 100 (14 fours, one six) in his side’s innings-and-14-run victory against Kent.

    Pakistan Super League

    Rassie van der Dussen hit 35 off 23 deliveries (four fours, two sixes) for Islamabad United in a 30-run defeat to the Quetta Gladiators.
