Dean Elgar scored 50 off 37 balls (five fours, one six) for Essex in a 47-run defeat to Kent. He was backed up by former Proteas spinner and Essex captain Simon Harmer, who smashed 55 off 21 deliveries (two fours, seven sixes).

Seattle Orcas captain Heinrich Klaasen scored 21 off 11 balls (one four, three sixes) in a seven-wicket loss to MI New York.
Faf du Plessis smashed 100 off 51 balls (six fours, seven sixes) as the Texas Super Kings fell to a seven-wicket defeat to the San Francisco Unicorns.
Du Plessis followed that with another superb knock against the Washington Freedom, scoring 69 off 31 deliveries (eight fours, four sixes). But Welkom-born USA international Andries Gous then hit 80* off 45 balls (six fours, four sixes) to guide the Freedom to a seven-wicket win.
Former Proteas opener Quinton de Kock scored 55 off 34 balls (seven fours, two sixes) in MI New York’s two-wicket loss to Washington Freedom.
De Kock then smashed 70 runs of 46 balls (eight fours, two sixes) in a 47-run defeat to the San Francisco Unicorns.
