Donovan Ferreira hit 43 off 21 deliveries (six fours, four sixes) in the Texas Super Kings’ 52-run win against the LA Knight Riders, while Cape Town-born USA international Shadley van Schalwyk took 3-51 for the Knight Riders.
Ferreira went on to clobber 53 off 20 deliveries (three fours, five sixes) in a 39-run win against MI New York.
Proteas seamer Gerald Coetzee took 3-34 in the Seattle Orcas’ 32-run defeat to the San Francisco Unicorns.
Former Proteas captain Faf du Plessis struck 103* off 53 balls (five fours, nine sixes) – his second century of the tournament – in the Texas Super Kings’ 39-run win against MI New York.
