Quinton de Kock scored 33 off 24 balls (four fours, one six) as MI New York defeated the San Francisco Unicorns by two wickets in the eliminator playoff.
De Kock then smashed 77 off 46 deliveries (six fours, four sixes) in the final as MI New York clinched a five-run win against the Washington Freedom.
Former Proteas captain Faf du Plessis fired 59 off 42 balls (seven fours, one six) for the Texas Super Kings in their seven-wicket loss to MI New York in the second qualifier playoff.
Tristan Luus took 3-35 for MI New York.

Wayne Madsen scored 77* off 53 balls (10 fours, two sixes) for Derbyshire in a 12-run defeat to Worcestershire.
Captain Leus du Plooy hit 54 off 37 balls (four fours, two sixes) in Middlesex’s 23-run win against Gloucestershire.
Du Plooy bagged another half-century against Kent, scoring 68 off 45 deliveries (eight fours, two sixes).
Proteas batsman Matthew Breetzke hammered 93 off 45 deliveries (nine fours, five sixes) as Northamptonshire defeated Derbyshire by 13 runs.
Breetzke went on to score a 40-ball 85 (seven fours, six sixes) in a 64-run win against the Birmingham Bears, while Ricardo Vasconcelos made 56 off 27 balls (eight fours, three sixes).
Joburg-born Germany international Matthew Montgomery took 4-30 in Nottinghamshire’s seven-wicket win against Durham.
Former Proteas batsman Colin Ingram scored 69 off 33 balls (five fours, five sixes) for Glamorgan in a six-wicket loss to Surrey.

Former Proteas spinner Imran Tahir took 4-23 in the Guyana Amazon Warriors’ 66-run win against Central Districts.
Tahir followed that up with figures of 4-12 in a 57-run win against the Dubai Capitals.
