Almost 75% of SACricketmag.co.za readers believe Dewald Brevis should have been selected for the Proteas’ five-match T20I series against India in June.
Brevis scored a record 506 runs in six innings at the U19 World Cup earlier this year, at an average of 84.33, which saw him bought for just over R6-million by the Mumbai Indians at the IPL auction.
In seven IPL matches, ‘Baby AB’ scored 161 runs at an average of 23.00 and a strike rate of 142.47, with a highest score of 49. He hit 14 fours and 11 sixes.
However, that wasn’t enough to earn the 18-year-old a maiden Proteas T20I call-up for the series in India.
