• Proteas taking mace to six SA cities

    CSA has confirmed the schedule for the Proteas’ nationwide mace tour.

    On 18 and 19 June, fans across Gauteng came out in their thousands to welcome the newly crowned Test world champions home.

    The celebrations began with the squad’s arrival at OR Tambo International Airport, which was followed by a special welcome reception at CSA head office in Melrose Estate.

    This month, the Proteas will take the Mace to other parts of the country.

    The tour is set to start in Kimberley and Bloemfontein on Tuesday, 23 September, followed by Durban, Port Elizabeth, East London and Cape Town.

    Mace tour schedule:

    Tuesday, 23 September: Kimberley and Bloemfontein
    8:30am – 10am: Diamond Oval, Kimberley
    12:30pm – 2pm: Tshoseletso High School, Rocklands Bloemfontein
    5:30pm – 6:30pm: Airport meet and greet, King Shaka International, Durban

    Wednesday, 24 September: Durban and Port Elizabeth
    8:30am – 9:30am: City bus parade from Umhlanga to Kingsmead Stadium, Durban
    9:30am – 12pm: SAB Braai Day at Kingsmead Stadium, Durban
    5:30pm – 7:30pm: Boardwalk photo opportunity and signing session, Port Elizabeth

    Thursday, 25 September: Port Elizabeth and East London
    8am – 10am: School assembly event and captain’s panel discussion, Grey High School, Port Elizabeth
    2pm – 4pm: East London city bus parade, King Williams Town to Mdantsane Township to East London CBD.
    4pm – 5:30pm: City Hall fan activation, photo opportunity and signing session, East London

    Friday, 26 September: Cape Town
    12pm – 2pm: Fan meet and greet, Grand Parade, Cape Town
    2pm – 4pm: CBD open bus parade, Cape Town
