Proteas captain Temba Bavuma and eight of his teammates will take the World Test Championship mace to Langa on Friday.
This will be the first leg of the tour, with CSA set to announce further details for the full tour in September that will include stops in Kimberley, Bloemfontein, Durban, Port Elizabeth, East London and Cape Town.
“We are extremely excited to be afforded the opportunity to take the mace to Temba’s hometown of Langa,” said CSA CEO Pholetsi Moseki.
“Throughout his cricketing journey, Temba has always paid homage to his roots, and bringing the mace home is a powerful tribute to the community that helped shape his talent.”
