Rubin Hermann has been named as Dewald Brevis’ replacement for the remainder of the ODI series against Pakistan.
Hermann has been released from the South Africa A four-day squad currently in India and will join the ODI squad on Thursday.
The 28-year-old has played six T20Is for the Proteas, scoring 153 runs at a strike rate of 131.89.
He recently struck back-to-back centuries – 158* and 109 – for South Africa A in a one-day series against New Zealand A in Benoni.
Brevis was ruled out of the ODI series in Pakistan after sustaining a low-grade shoulder muscle strain during the third T20I.
Pakistan won the first ODI on Tuesday by two wickets. The second ODO is on Thursday and the third on Saturday.
