• Pretorius, Brevis win big at Titans Awards

    Lhuan-dre Pretorius and Dewald Brevis cleaned up at the Titans Annual Awards ceremony on Wednesday night.

    Big-hitting 19-year-old batsman Pretorius was named Men’s Titans Player of the Year, Fans’ Player of the Year, Men’s First-Class Player of the Year and Men’s Newcomer of the Year.

    Pretorius scored 436 runs in seven innings in the 4-Day Series, at an average of 72.66, with three centuries, including a match-saving 114 against the Lions in the final.

    He also struck two centuries for the Titans in the One-Day Cup while making 316 runs in eight matches an average of 45.14.

    Twenty-one-year-old batsman Brevis was named Men’s Players’ Player of the Year and Men’s One-Day Player of the Year after scoring 398 runs in seven innings in the One-Day Cup at an average of 66.33.

    Pace bowler Dayyaan Galiem won the Men’s T20 Player of the Year award, while Sune Luus was named Women’s Titans Player of the Year, Women’s Player’s Player of the Year and Women’s 50-Over Player of the Year.
