• Mumbai secure big win over Royals

The Mumbai Indians picked up their fourth win of the IPL when they comfortably beat the Rajasthan Royals by 57 runs on Tuesday.

An excellent knock by Suryakumar Yadav helped the Indians to a handy total before Jasprit Bumrah and Trent Boult did the job with the ball with six wickets between the two of them.

Batting first, Quinton de Kock and Rohit Sharma made a swift start before the South African captain was dismissed for 23.

Sharma reached 35 before falling victim to Shreyas Gopal, which had Yadav take control of the Indians’ innings by bringing up a valuable half-century.

Hardik Pandya smashed 30 off 19 deliveries towards the end of the innings, while Yadav finished on 79 not out as the Indians reached 193-4 in their 20 overs.

Despite a very handy 70 by Jos Buttler, the Royals’ innings never got going with Steve Smith, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sanju Samson all departing for single figures at the top of the order.

Bumrah continued to rip through the Royals lineup and ended with figures of 4-20 in his 20 overs, while Boult (2-26), and James Pattinson (2-19) added further misery.

In the end the Royals were dismissed for 136 as they suffered their third defeat of the campaign.
