• Labuschagne tons up in Potchefstroom

    Batsman Marnus Labuschagne struck a century, as Australia reached a final total of 254 for seven in Saturday’s third and final ODI against the Proteas at Senwes Park in Potchefstroom.

    Labuschagne finished with 108, which spanned as many deliveries – and featured eight fours and no sixes.

    South Africa named debutant fast bowler Daryn Dupavillon in the XI. He welcomed the key wicket of opener Aaron Finch as a first in international cricket.

    The hosts have an unassailable two-nil series lead. They won the first ODI at Boland Park on the back of a century from middle-order batsman Heinrich Klaasen. Opening batsman Janneman Malan’s ton sealed triumph in the second ODI.

    The Proteas will depart for India after this series, despite the threat posted by the coronavirus outbreak. India and South Africa will contest three ODIs in Dharamsala, Lucknow and Kolkata. The uncapped George Linde has been named in the tourists’ squad.
