    Published on June 17, 2021

The Lions have announced that former Proteas all-rounder JP Duminy will be part of their new-look coaching structures.

Spearheading the Lions Cricket coaching system is team man and previous CSA Coach of the Year winner Wandile Gwavu. He boasts three domestic trophies in his career to date and will once again oversee the Lions Cricket professional team coaching responsibilities.

Joining Gwavu is newly appointed assistant coach Jimmy Kgamadi, formerly of North West Cricket.

Meanwhile, Duminy will head up the batting department.

‘With more than a decade of international cricket to his name, JP will contribute immensely not only to the professional team, but to all teams throughout the pipeline,’ a statement read.

On the bowling front, former Warriors head coach Piet Botha will fulfil another key role.
