India have confirmed their T20I, ODI and Test squads for the much-anticipated tour of Australia, which gets under way next month.
Virat Kohli’s men will travel Down Under for three ODIs, three T20Is and four Test matches – India’s first international participation since Covid-19 ended their limited-overs series against the Proteas back in March.
The noticeable omissions, however, in the India camp are that of star batsman Rohit Sharma and experienced bowler Ishant Sharma, who are both unavailable due to injury.
‘The All-India Senior Selection Committee met via video-conference on Monday to select the Indian Cricket Team for the upcoming Tour of Australia. Team India will take part in three T20Is, three ODIs and four Test matches against Australia,’ the BCCI stated on Monday.
The tour will officially kick off in Sydney on 27 November, with the first two ODIs taking place at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
The two teams will then head to the Manuka Oval for the final ODI and opening T20I before returning to the SCG to complete the T20I series.
The Adelaide Oval, Melbourne Cricket Ground, SCG and GABBA in Brisbane will host the four Test matches over the festive period to conclude the tour.
