AB de Villiers – 5,162 runs
De Villiers played from 2008 to 2021, making 184 IPL appearances for the Delhi Daredevils and Royal Challengers Bengaluru. His best score was 133* against Mumbai Indians in 2015, and he finished with a strike rate of 151.69.

Faf du Plessis – 4,700+ runs
Former Proteas captain Du Plessis debuted in 2012 and made 154 IPL appearances. He featured for the Chennai Super Kings, Rising Pune Supergiant, Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Delhi Capitals. His best score was 96, and he finished with a strike rate of 135.79.
Quinton de Kock – 3,400+ runs
De Kock has played in the IPL since 2013 and is part of Mumbai Indians squad in 2026. In the past De Kock has lined up for Sunrisers Hyderabad, Delhi Daredevils, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Lucknow Super Giants and the Kolkata Knight Riders. His highest score remains 140* against Kolkata Knight Riders, with a career strike rate of 134.94.
David Miller – 3,100+ runs
Miller has featured in the IPL since 2012 and is with Delhi Capitals in 2026. Another well travelled Protea, Miller has also represented Kings XI Punjab, Rajasthan Royals, Gujarat Titans, Lucknow Super Giants. His best score is 101* against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, with a career strike rate of just under 139.

JP Duminy – 2,029 runs
Duminy played from 2009 to 2018, mainly as a middle-order option who could also contribute with the ball. The former Protea featured for the Mumbai Indians, Deccan Charger and Delhi Daredevils. His highest IPL score was 78*, and he finished with a strike rate just above 124..
Heinrich Klaasen – 1,800+ runs
Klaasen has played in the IPL since 2018 and is part of Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2026. His best IPL score was 105* off 39 balls against KKR in 2025 and has had a career strike rate of 166.87. Klaasen has also been a successful power hitter for the Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
