CSK outgun LSG in batting frenzy

Chennai Super Kings pulled off a nervy five wicket win over Lucknow Super Giants in a run-fest in Chennai, chasing down 204 with four balls to spare.

LSG smashed their way to 203/8 after Josh Inglis lit up the Powerplay with a ridiculous 85 off 33 balls, hammering sixes at will and putting CSK under instant pressure.

Mitchell Marsh and Rishabh Pant got starts but could not cash in, while Shahbaz Ahmedโ€™s unbeaten 43 dragged them past 200 on a flat Chennai surface.

Jamie Overton kept CSK in the contest with a crucial 3/36, removing Inglis, Pant and Raghuwanshi, but LSG still looked set for a match-winning total for most of their innings.

Then came the CSK response.

Sanju Samson got them flying early, Ruturaj Gaikwad kept things steady, but the real damage came from Urvil Patel, who exploded with a jaw-dropping 65 off 23 balls, smashing eight sixes and flipping the chase completely on its head.

Even with late wickets from Digvesh Rathi and Shahbaz Ahmed, CSK never lost control. Shivam Dube and Prashant Veer calmly finished the job, sealing a high-pressure chase with four balls left.

Overtonโ€™s all-round impact earned him Player of the Match, but Patelโ€™s carnage was the defining story of the night as CSK once again showed why they are so dangerous in a chase.
