• CSA positions for Madiseng, Williams

Cricket South Africa has elected the Central Gauteng Lions’ Jack Madiseng as a non-independent director.

Madiseng has been president and chairperson of the Central Gauteng Lions (formerly Gauteng Cricket Board) since 2016.

‘I am equally excited and nervous about this new responsibility bestowed upon me, and I’m looking forward to contributing towards the success of Cricket SA,’ said Madiseng.

Western Province Cricket Association president Beresford Williams, meanwhile, has been appointed CSA’s vice-president.

‘I am humbled and honoured that CSA has placed their confidence in me with the election of vice-president,’ Williams wrote on social media.

‘I feel blessed as I begin this new journey. Be assured that I will endeavour to reflect the utmost compassion, honesty and integrity towards this great game of cricket.

‘I am immensely grateful and deeply moved by the expression of confidence from all who voted for me.

‘I would like to take this opportunity to thank my wife Rene Williams for her undying love and encouragement – and to my family and friends thank you for your unending love and support, but mostly I thank the Almighty, for without Him nothing would be possible.

‘It is with God that I will continue to serve the people and our country and for the love of the game. Enkosi, Dankie, Thank you.’
