• Coca-Cola T20 playoffs begin

The first of the Schools T20 provincial playoff tournaments take place at Kearsney College this week, writes THEO GARRUN.

The first of the provincial final playoff games in the Coca-Cola Schools T20 competition takes place this week.

This year the quarterfinals, semi-finals and finals of the 16 CSA provincial unions will all take place at centralised venues, over two days, with the winners going through to the next round of the tournament, the franchise playoffs. The latter will determine the six schools who will play in the National Finals at the University of Pretoria from 15 to 17 March.

They will be joined there by two CSA Focus Schools – one each from the coastal and inland regions – who will have come through a similar elimination process.

The eventual overall winners stand to walk off with R110 000 for their school.

This week’s playoffs are to find the KwaZulu-Natal Coastal champions. They take place on Thursday and Friday at Kearsney College.
