Proteas fast bowler Corbin Bosch says he will look to Kagiso Rabada for guidance as he prepares for a potential first Test appearance in the subcontinent.
Bosch is one of only two all-format Proteas players named for the upcoming tour – the other being Dewald Brevis – with the two-match Test series getting underway in Lahore on 12 October.
The 31-year-old knows the challenge facing quicks in Pakistan but believes Rabada and other experienced seamers in the squad will be invaluable.
“I haven’t chatted to KG too much yet. Obviously, we’ve got a camp coming up on 5 and 6 of October, so I think I’ll dive more into detail when I get to see them there,” Bosch told SportsBoom.co.za.
“The obvious thing is that the ball doesn’t bounce as much as it does in South Africa, and it tends to reverse swing, so it’s about trying to make use of those aspects. I think we’ll get into it more when the camp comes around.”

Bosch made his Test debut last summer against Pakistan in Centurion, where he scored a maiden fifty and took four wickets. He followed that up with a five-for and a century against Zimbabwe as the Proteas sealed a 2-0 series win.
Coach Shukri Conrad has shown strong faith in Bosch since drafting him into the national set-up, something the fast bowler says has been key to his progress.
“He’s given me a lot of responsibility but also backed me at the same time, and I couldn’t be more grateful. He’s allowed me to be myself and express myself the way I do best,” Bosch said.
“I’m just glad that I’ve put some performances behind me. He’s been fantastic for me, and I look forward to spending more time with him.”

Bosch insists his game is in a good place heading into the Pakistan tour but wants to keep building.
“There’s always room for improvement. As a team, we want to get over the line in the Pakistan Test series, but also in the ODIs and T20Is. It’s a big series coming up, and I’m looking forward to hopefully playing a crucial part in it all.”
