    Zondo debuts as SA bat

Khaya Zondo Zondo debuts as SA bat
    Published on February 4, 2018 | Leave a response

India have won the toss and decided to bowl first in the second ODI at Centurion.

South Africa come into this match without two key players. AB de Villiers has been ruled out of the first three ODIs of this series due to a finger injury. Regular skipper Faf du Plessis sustained a finger injury of his own in the recent clash in Durban, and will play no further part in the series.

Aiden Markram has been given the ODI captaincy for the next five games as a result.

Debutant Khaya Zondo has come into the Proteas team to replace Du Plessis in the batting order.

Spinner Tabraiz Shamsi replaces all-rounder Andile Phehlukwayo.

PREVIEW: SA vs India, 2nd ODI

Virat Kohli won the toss and did not hesitate to put South Africa in to bat. For the second time in this series, South Africa will set India a target to chase. The pressure will be on the top-order to contribute bigger individual scores and partnerships.

    READ: Markram named ODI captain

India have retained the same XI following their convincing win in Durban.

South Africa: 1 Hashim Amla, 2 Quinton de Kock (wk), 3 Aiden Markram, 4 JP Duminy, 5 David Miller, 6 Khaya Zondo, 7 Chris Morris, 8 Kagiso Rabada, 9 Morne Morkel,  10 Tabraiz Shamsi, 11 Imran Tahir

India: 1 Rohit Sharma, 2 Shikhar Dhawan, 3 Virat Kohli (c), 4 Ajinkya Rahane, 5 MS Dhoni (wk), 6 Kedar Jadhav, 7 Hardik Pandya, 8 Bhuvneshwar Kumar, 9 Jasprit Bumrah, 10 Kuldeep Yadav, 11 Yuzvendra Chahal
