• ‘Rebel’ tourists out for 54

    Relive the 1983/84 West Indies ‘rebel’ tourists and some rare grainy footage from it. This is when South Africa bowled the tourists out for 54 at Berea Park.

    The match was a 50-over affair with South Africa making 227. Captain Clive Rice top-scored with 54, while Mandy Yachad (30), Dave Richardson (26) and Kenny McEwan and Graeme Pollock (both 22) all chipped in.

    Rupert ‘Spook’ Hanley then had amazing figures of 10-1-22-6 and Stephen Jefferies 8-1-21-2, while Kenny Watson claimed 1-3 as the West Indies were bowled out for 54.
