Prince: Games that don’t matter, don’t matter

Cape Town Blitz coach Ashwell Prince has effectively dismissed Sunday’s Mzansi Super League defeat to the Durban Heat at Newlands.

The result did not yield movement in the tournament’s six-team standings as the Blitz retained first position and the Heat remained last.

‘There is a lot of pressure throughout the tournament, and I suppose before the game started a lot of that tension would have been taken out of the fixture and maybe also a bit of urgency,’ said Prince.

The Blitz have secured a home final after six victories in 10 matches. Their opposition has not been confirmed, but will be the Nelson Mandela Bay Giants, Jozi Stars, Tshwane Spartans or Paarl Rocks.

‘At the end of the day, games that don’t matter, don’t matter – that’s the bottom line. This game didn’t matter, Sunday’s game matters and it’s about turning up when it matters,’ he stated.
