Voges suffers injury blow

Adam Voges’ chances of playing in the third Test is in jeopardy after suffering a concussion in a Sheffield Shield clash on Thursday.

The 37-year-old batsman retired hurt and was diagnosed with a concussion after he was struck by a bouncer from fast bowler Cameron Stevenson in Western Australia’s Shield match against Tasmania.

The right-hander has struggled to get going in Australia’s series defeat to South Africa and after this injury might find it difficult to find his way back into the team, after he posted scores of 27, 1, 0 and 2.

Despite his recent low scores, Voges still averages 61.87 from 20 Tests, with five centuries, two of which were doubles.

With selectors indicating significant team changes for the upcoming Adelaide Test, Voges might be forced out of the team.
