Proteas batsman David Miller is confident he will be on the plane to India for the T20 World Cup.
The 36-year-old suffered a groin injury in the Paarl Royals’ last match of the SA20 league stage, missing his side’s eliminator and second qualifier playoffs.
“I’m taking it day by day. I don’t think I’m far from being fit again,” Miller said on Friday night as quoted by Rapport. “I already feel better than yesterday.”
Proteas coach Shukri Conrad confirmed that scans on Miller’s injury showed no major concerns.
“I believe he will be on the flight to India,” he said.

That would be a significant boost for the Proteas, who have already lost Tony de Zorzi and Donovan Ferreira to injury.
Miller was in good form during the SA20, scoring 196 runs in eight innings at an average of 39.20 and a strike rate of 148.48.
As a precaution, Miller will sit out the three-match T20I series against the West Indies, with Rubin Hermann named as his replacement.
The series begins on Tuesday at Boland Park, with the second and third matches at Centurion on Thursday and the Wanderers on Saturday.
