In response, Province lost opener Jiveshan Pillay, Valentine Kitime and Daniel Smith in quick succession to leave them reeling at 12-3.

Joshua van Heerden rebuilt the innings with a resilient 44 off 41 balls, but Eathan Bosch then claimed three crucial wickets, including the dismissals of George Linde and Josh Breed.

Anrich Nortje also made an impact, taking two wickets to further dent WP’s chase.

The Dolphins advance to the second qualifier playoff in Gqeberha on Friday where they will face the EP Warriors. Boland have already qualified for the final.
