• Saffas Abroad: Bedingham in the runs

    David Bedingham was the standout South African performer in the latest round of England’s County Championship.

    County Championship Division One

    Former Proteas captain Dean Elgar scored 48 for Essex in a rained-affected draw against Warwickshire.

    Durham’s David Bedingham struck 58 (10 fours, one six) in a draw against Worcestershire.

    County Championship Division Two

    Joburg-born former England international Keaton Jennings, the son of former SA wicketkeeper and SA U19 coach Ray, scored 61 (seven fours) for Lancashire in their draw with Middlesex.

    Pretoria-born all-rounder Graeme van Burren contributed with bat and ball, taking 3-23 before scoring 44 runs (six fours) in the first innings for Gloucestershire in a seven-wicket win against Northamptonshire.

    Caribbean Premier League

    Proteas spinner Tabraiz Shamsi took 3-33 as the St Lucia Kings fell to a 14-run defeat to the Guyana Amazon Warriors.

    Welkom-born USA international Andries Gous hit 61 off 45 deliveries (five fours, three sixes) for the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons in a nine-wicket defeat to the Trinbago Knight Riders.

    Former Proteas spinner Imran Tahir took 3-34 in the 2025 CPL final, but it was not enough as the Guyana Amazon Warriors lost by three wickets to the Trinbago Knight Riders.
