• SA A recover from food poisoning

The South African A side are back in training after several players suffered from food poisoning over the weekend.

Taking the situation into account, the BCCI have agreed to re-schedule matches in the ‘A’ tri-series in order to give the SA A team more recovery time.

The SA A team was scheduled to play Australia A on Tuesday, but this match has now been rescheduled for Wednesday 12 August 2015. The SA A team will then face India A on the 13th and if they win both these matches, will take on Australia A in the final on 14 August 2015.

At least seven players had to be hospitalised at various times on Sunday after suffering from a terrible bout of food poisoning. All the players have since been discharged from hospital and are back at their hotel in Chennai in various stages of recovery.

Quinton de Kock, who was one of the players affected, hit a century in Sunday’s first game against India A, but it wasn’t enough to prevent an eight-wicket defeat. De Kock made his 108 runs off 124 balls (13 fours and a six) but the only other contribution of note came from Dane Vilas (50 off 50 balls, 3×4, 3×6).

‘We are grateful to the BCCI for allowing us the extra day for our players to recover,’ said CSA Chief Executive, Haroon Lorgat.
