Cant agree more ..this young man is the complete package...decent all rounder...has BMT and possess enthusiasm, friendliness and charm that will make him a winner with team and the public..

I like his flair .Andile looks like the type of guy that can get wickets when others are battling. He is a thinking bowler as well.At the moment his bowling is the stronger suit. At 20 ,he hopefully will add a yard of pace.Id like to see him develop either of his abilities sufficiently such that he can be a match winner at test level in one of those departments. Perhaps similar to Ben Stokes. In the shorter formats he looks like a no.8 at the moment.

I am happy for him and feel that select tots did well by trying him.

I must say I thought SA rushed him a little but he's come though really well and made immense progress in 6months. A real talent for SA and a great find. Even have to admit there is definitely a Zulu Klusner thing about him.

Imagine all the hundreds of players that did not get the opportunity to play for SA in the days when only whites played for SA some had heaps of talent , some world class it's sad we could of rule the World of cricket and trust me there was plenty of Andiles we missed

Ab de villiers and dale steyn were picked at 20 and 21 respectively having played 5 first class games n were called up due to potential.there is so much wrong with they way transformation is j handled but cricket is better than all other sports...Rugby is where we should be crying not cricket.

Everybody here complaining about andile stats then should be happy that Behardien is always picked as he always leads the franchise one day stats.

This is the reason why the Quota system is enforced because opportunities are not coming our way without it!!!!

I feel like throwing up evrytime I see the word BLACK. Why must black always be in a sentence when we good. Y must we always be referredto as quotas? Andile is a athlete thtwas givn a chance n he performed.......not bcos of colour bt talent n his latest performances. Rolle model, yes indeed. Please stop saying we are anywhere bccos of our skin colour. Say we are there bcos we are south africans

We must drop Dean Elgar from the test squad... get H Klassen to keep and let De Kock open the batting....

he only need to work on his Batting a little, he wants to hit every ball for a Six , nearly gave some of us a heart attack, with his hero antics, what happens the next time we need him to stick along for a long period of time when we have too many overs left, like Marsh did. He is too impatient. (Phehlukwayo), but i still it's still a learnig progress for him.

Tebogo Philis
Tebogo Philis

actually i did, Dennis & as many south african did i was also panicking, Miller had to keep reaching to him to cool down, because he would attempt to try a six & it became a dot ball, at some point we wont have a luxury of that, we gonn need him to stay longer for a long period of time. he is eager to hit a boundrie.

Dennis Scheepers
Dennis Scheepers

The man came in when we only wanted sixes. And i take it you havent watch him in his innings of 42 not out.

Tebogo Philis
Tebogo Philis

its risky , yes being risky does pay off but having experience of Miller near you should ease the pressure off you & let him hit big boundaries, he could've roatated the strike, my question is what happens when we dont have luxury of overs & he keeps doing dot balls looking for boundaries?

Tebogo Philis
Tebogo Philis

when you keep doing unnecessary dot balls, it creates a lot of pressure with limited overs.

I understand ur point my man but how many games have we lost because we chose to take the caushios aproach... he is fearless i like it cause even if we lose we go down fighting

Tebogo Philis
Tebogo Philis

im not worried about his his fearless approach im worried about the dot balls he made while attempting a Boundry & not rotating the strike, but all in all i guess its just a learning progress.

Mphele Caiphus Nkwagatse
Mphele Caiphus Nkwagatse

Tebogo what if he gave Miller the strike n Miller miss hit one to long on throat..then he has to shepherd steyn n rabada n tahir while needing 9 runs an over.n we fall 3 runs short with 2 wickets in hand..sound familiar? U bet coz it has happened so many times before....even Miller told him to look for the big shots coz he get out then the tail can rotate to Miller. ..win win situation

The reason we strugglin at big moments because we play by the book. Normally we will let other player rotate strike and one who has been around score runs. Pretorius did that and was out, Andile came with different approach and it worked

Quotas is working on my nerves. Because it means 5 whites in the side but if they arent good enough then they must except if there is only three whites in the side. White quotas must fall.

Hey have seen all the comments here only about how Andile is just a quota selection. Try putting your reading glasses on or are you struggling to comprehend. Or do just like to defend white people.

White quotas? There's no rule forcing whites to play Mr racist Scheepers.

Dennis Scheepers

I am far from racist young man. The point is you wjites are down grading out players of colour. What justify the inclusion of Dwaine Pretorius, but you dont see us attacking him as a white quota player. Is Tahir a quota or Rabada, duminy, Amla, Andile, Parnell, Philander You tell me young man

Dennis Scheepers Dwayne pretorious averages 40 with the bat and 20 with the ball. Exceptional talent

Dennis Scheepers

In four day cricket and no threat with the white ball Brett Roux. His outings in the SA A and the proteas pretty much evident of that.

Coming back from world cup our problems were identified as 1. Death bowling 2. Number 7 batsman with a potential strike rate of 120 3. Bowler who can bowl first change 4. A young potential black cricketer Selectors had to look for few names like Albie Morkel, Pretorius, Behardien and out of all the names Phehlukwayo ticked all the boxes. I included point 4 with a purpose and not apologetic about it. I still say this kind of players are rare breed remind me of his hero Lance Klusener who played for Natal Midlands was never really a favourite for Sa under 19

Rebaone Lawrence Tlhapane
Rebaone Lawrence Tlhapane

As usual.. A black player needs more training, more experience, blah blah blah... Your Graeme Smith and others joined the Proteas at a young age and they were allowed to grow into the role but when its a black player.. Too soon blah blah blah

Pretorius and him should play, the more all rounders the better

Zebi Mokoena
Zebi Mokoena

When you bat number 8 in Odi format likelihood you will face 30 balls and expected to score over 50. Is Pretorius that kind of a player obviously he is more of a player who will rotate strike scoring 1 a ball. To me he is a solid test all rounder

Justus Beets

I just hope Andile makes it when things get tougher, cause we have Rabada wrapped in cotton, but some fringe players who haven't tasted a locker room after a world cup choke, will be at risk. I really would have liked to see him play another season of List A/SA A/FC cricket before playing for SA. Pretorius is a bit older and I think he knows his role better than Andile. Let's hope Andile gets the proper guidance and not pushed too hard into situations too soon when things get tough.

Zebi Mokoena

He is but blessed with what most players lack big match temparment.

Ian Killian

Zebi, Lance Klusener is right on the mark. Andile is still so very young but he seems to learn every time he rubs shoulders with the Senior players.

...we should be grateful that we have both and that they are not the same age (7 years apart) and both have a future in all the squads... ...Pretorius is an fixed experienced franchise player now and Andile the young gun getting better with each match...wouldn't mind either in the team, Andile edges it just(at the moment), but both can play... ...Rebaone, a bit more experience for Andile is never a bad idea, the dude is just 20 (hasn't played or experienced all situations yet)...

Norman Masilo

Tristan Keuning YOU 100% RIGHT WE COULD USE NO8 AS A BATTER TOO AND PRETORIUS GIVE THAT OPTION

Zebi Mokoena
Zebi Mokoena

Between Andile and Pretorius if we left with 2 balls to score 6 runs who is likely to hit those runs? Its very seldom to come at 8 and have time to build your inning unless its a test

WM Moodley
WM Moodley

Andile is the best man for the job.. Pretorius is a good squad player. Aiden Markram is another talent that should be given a chance. He's the only SA captain to hold a world cup.. be it at U19
